I should have gotten one of these the day I bought my smart watch! |
A year and a half ago I started wearing a wrist watch for the first time in decades! I have always been so concerned about breaking it and buying a $400 smart watch did not help much! The Samsung Gear 2 (not S2) has been the center of my attention since it first came out. It fit my needs so perfectly I could not resist when we got a fantastic deal on a slightly used model!
In the past 18 months I have kept an eye out for some kind of protection but after breaking the glass last month I stepped up my search. Fortunately it works fine but the replacement glass in on back order for a while longer.
In my desperation I realized just last weekend that I should not just limit my search to protective cases specifically designed for the Samsung Gear 2. Many of the more recent wearables have great cases available but this piece of perfect tech (in my humble opinion) just was not getting the attention it needed!!
I searched for general watch protectors on Google and spent time burrowing through hundreds of images and came across the Watch-et Wristwatch Protector!
After looking at videos on the site and all the images (one of which showed my exact watch) I decided to order a large ORANGE one right away!! Only problem was that we were leaving in five days and I needed it right away! In my excited stated I decided to try to contact the maker on their Faceboook page and the owner and inventor himself, Chad, responded almost right away on a Sunday afternoon!!
The product arrived exactly as promised the day before we left and I have never been more pleased with a purchase like this! Yeah, I am excited!
First off, the design of the product is ingenious. This is not just a strap that goes around the outside of the watch, it also goes behind the watch and PROTECTS THE CHARGING CONTACTS FROM GETTING DIRTY THAT ARE ALWAYS SUCH A ROYAL PAIN TO KEEP CLEAN!
Not only that, the flap that covers the watch itself has a second piece of Velcro that straps it OPEN so that the camera can still be used that is located on the top of the watch itself! This has been a concern of mine but frankly I was willing to give up the camera if it protected the watch... the extra Velcro was nothing short of a jackpot bonus to the whole product.
In addition, the product has a second small pouch on the inside of the wrist that is big enough for either a spare key, a little bit of cash or both. I can see that coming in handy, as well!
My conclusion is that this cleverly designed watch protector is useful for pretty much any kind of watch and the peace of mind it provides is so much greater than the under $20US price tag that it comes with. Good job Chad Kinney and good job Watch-et Wristwatch Protector! I am buying at least another if not two more!
